WHATCOM COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT NO. 8 AND GLO-FLEX®            At our Fire Department a bit of a tradition has developed when it comes to our helmets.  The first thing that comes off before the helmet goes on, are the reflective decals that come with it.  They are replaced with GLO-FLEX. Unfortunately the same conditions that can contribute to accidents, rain and darkness become a Fire Fighters worst enemy while competing with the scene conditions to return home safely.  When our visibility needs to be at it’s greatest is when other products can fail. All the emergency vehicles, flashing lights, and the public’s curiosity about what is happening, can render us invisible to oncoming traffic.  GLO-FLEX’s ability to stay highly reflective when wet and glow in the dark, means that there is one more safety measure working for us while we are working to help others.  Our district is a career/volunteer mix and like others our needs often exceed our budget, so we pay for the GLO-FLEX upgrade ourselves.  I consider it money well spent!
